Our tools

Community-tier tools are free and open source. Subscriptions add the other tools as ready-to-install builds, plus the updates and guides released while you are subscribed. A lapsed subscription keeps them.

These tools are free and open source: the code is public and stays public, whatever happens to your subscription. Developed by SAT with GRIS (Université de Montréal), Les 7 Doigts’ LAB7, ossia.io and IDMIL (McGill).

Custom Services and Hardware

Leverage SAT's unique expertise for your ambitious projects: equipment rental — Audiodice, haptic floor, Scenic stations, immersive studio — and R&D support from the team that built them. Quoted per project.

One Audiodice loudspeaker: a black polyhedron with a driver on each face Audiodice Custom Five multidirectional loudspeakers for eccentric 3D sound spatialization.

Five loudspeakers with 12 independent drivers each, 60 channels in all: sound radiates from the speakers outwards to the audience rather than from a ring around it, so eccentric and concentric spatialization can be combined. Available to buy or for rent, installation quoted separately.

Haptic Floor Haptic Floor Custom Modular floor of triangular tiles that move and vibrate under the audience’s feet.

Each triangular tile sits on actuators that raise it by 2 cm or make it vibrate; the whole floor is driven by OSC messages, so from any Suite tool or your own. Built to let an audience feel a sound, a movement or a response to its presence. Available to buy on custom sizes or for rent.

Scenic Stations Scenic Stations Custom Telepresence rack: 4 video inputs and 4 outputs at 1080p60, 4 XLR audio inputs and 4 outputs.

The Scenic Station is a Linux machine in a 4U road case, ready to plug in: 3 SDI and 1 HDMI inputs, 4 HDMI outputs (1080p at 60 frames per second), 4 XLR audio inputs and 4 outputs, an NVIDIA GPU, and the Scenic software driven from a browser. Available for buying or rent.

Immersive Studio Immersive Studio Custom CAVE-type studio: projection on three walls and the floor, ceiling grid for cameras and speakers.

The immersive studio projects on three walls and the floor; a ceiling grid takes cameras, speakers and sensors. About 35 m² / 382 sq ft (16 × 22.5 ft, 10.25 ft high). Rental depends on needs and availability.
